Sleepless Bobby

Hello, my dear friends and foes!

I've started recently a blog with a similar name in Romanian language, because it is my native language, and sometimes I feel to write down some thoughts. Romanian is quite a difficult language, with a grammar similar to French, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese, all of them derived from the Latin language. I am writing these in order to explain that there is no use to try to translate the other blog, Noctambulul, using automated translators, because they will only translate the words, and the meanings will be lost...

Lost in translation... This is actually the title of a great movie directed and written by Sofia Coppola, starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. There are a few good trailers available on the web, but this one seems to be the perfect match between the movie scenes and the selected music (Insomnia by Electric President):

The title of the above trailer has a similar name with my blog: Insomnia. Sleepless Bobby is me. I am not actually a sleepless or an insomniac, and I do not have sleep disorder problems (yet), but due to my working hours (I am working in shifts), I have unusual sleeping hours. Usually I am going to bed between 2 and 5 AM, sometimes right after coming back from night shift, meaning around 7:30 AM.

In the Romanian version I've explained some problems that people who work in shifts might have. In order to read more about this, searching the web for "Shift Work Sleep Disorder" will display some interesting sites that are dealing with this issue.

This blog is not intended to post sleep disorder problems, but issues that come into my mind at hours that the Common People usually sleep... I do not intend to post on a regular basis neither.

Take care!

  2. :) That's exactly why I like to use "Alda's Translator" ;) 'cause I care about the words but much more about the feelings.
By the way, "unusual sleeping hours" leads you to unusual living thoughts... keep the best ones, make them dreams and one day, at least one might be real. Other wise it won't be worthy. Cheers

  3. Thank you very much for your thoughts, Alda! Very deep! I'll use your words (with the appropriate quotation marks) and place them into a new blog post!
